• Teachers met with groups of learners to organise a cake and pancake sale the following Friday 17th February. Cakes were donated in huge numbers and many learners acted as ambassadors for the fundraising by promoting, selling and collecting donations for the emergency relief fund.
• The Y11 hospitality cohort showed off their culinary skills by serving pancakes at Lunchtime too. There was a fantastic turnout and really tested their ability to work under pressure to meet demand.
• Both fundraising activities were a great success and after just one break and a lunchtime sale and to the good nature of our Lyndon community we were able to raise £567.86!!! This money will be of a great help to the people in the affected areas.
• This was just a start to the fundraising campaign and has now ignited learners to do even more. Shortly after we returned from the half term break, a personal learning lesson was devised so that learners can initiate a further fundraising campaign. We look forward to seeing further plans in action.
•Our learners understand the many rights of children in Syria and Turkey have been denied as a result of this earthquake.
