Year 9 learners at Lyndon School have designed plastic poppies in Art and Design to ‘plant’ in the school’s Remembrance Garden, which hosts poppies from last year and live poppies planted by its history department.
Lyndon invited its learners to congregate on the morning of Friday November 11 for a two minute silence, rendition of the Last Post and speech from Dave Kelly, Assistant Principal on the importance of tolerance, mutual respect and democracy as core British values.
Dave Kelly, Assistant Principal at Lyndon School, said: “Remembrance here at Lyndon is a sombre, yet reflective event. It provides our learners with an opportunity to consider those who have given their lives and to consider those who continue to do so now.”
