Lyndon School raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the world’s biggest coffee morning.
On Friday the 24th of September, Lyndon School held a Macmillan coffee morning to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.
The first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, they did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £290 million for Macmillan.
Mr Abid Butt, Principal at Lyndon School said:
“I am delighted that so much money was raised for such a worthwhile cause. Sadly, one in two of us will face cancer, and the money you raised at the Coffee Morning will help everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can.”
